Summary

  • tnctl bootstrap installed docker.io/tekn0ir/toe:toe_v4 with imagePullPolicy: Always, which is the old TOE (no apply-v2; the pod restarts when its 24 h MQTT JWT expires). New robots now get toe_v4.2-4c366dae@sha256:c83116d0… (multi-arch, the image all staging robots run since 2026-10-23) with IfNotPresent, the same form ansible playbooks/toe-image.yml writes.
  • The comment is placed above command:, because the playbook finds the toe container by command: - /manager + image: + imagePullPolicy: on consecutive lines (playbooks/vars/toe-manifest.yml toe_re).
  • Goldens regenerated (only the TOE lines change). New tests: the image is digest-pinned in all three variants, and the ansible toe_re matches exactly once.

Test plan

  • go vet ./..., go test ./pkg/... ./cmd/..., go test -C pkg/templates ./...
  • The layout test fails on a comment between - /manager and image:

New robots got docker.io/tekn0ir/toe:toe_v4 with imagePullPolicy Always: the old TOE
(no apply-v2, MQTT JWT expires after 24 h and the pod restarts). Pin the multi-arch digest
the staging robots run (copied from ghcr.io/teknoir/toe-app:sha-4c366dae) with IfNotPresent,
as playbooks/toe-image.yml writes it.

The comment sits above `command:`: the playbook (and the rebootstrap TOE keep) find the
toe container by `command: - /manager` + `image:` + `imagePullPolicy:` on consecutive lines.
Tests: the image is digest-pinned in every variant, and the ansible toe_re matches exactly
once.
