Blueprint title sheet: Suriyaprakash Palanisamy, Senior Software Engineer. A meshing gear train, a nod to his mechanical engineering degree, drives a lantern wheel whose pins are graph nodes. An encoder turns the motion into a signal that flows through a node graph to FastAPI, AWS EKS/ECS and ML forecasting.

10+ years across the full SDLC. Now building FastAPI microservices on AWS EKS/ECS that serve ML forecasting models at Freddie Mac (McLean, VA). Mechanical engineer by degree: from gears to graphs.

Who I am: 10+ years across the full SDLC; a platform of 50+ AWS microservices he contributed to; a 3,000-line Python backend refactored to about 1,000 lines with 20% better performance; PyTest coverage above 85% on new code; five domains: finance, healthcare, retail, pharma and insurance.
Tech stack as a bill of materials. Languages: Python, C#/.NET, JavaScript (primary), TypeScript, Swift, Java, Bash, SQL. Backend: FastAPI, Flask/Flask-RESTX, .NET Web API/Core (primary), Node/Express, Django. Frontend: React, Angular (primary), Vue, Redux, SwiftUI. AI: Claude Code, MCP, Copilot, local RAG, Tesseract OCR. Data: MS SQL Server, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Oracle, Redshift, DynamoDB, Tableau, pandas/NumPy. DevOps: GitHub Actions, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins. Cloud: AWS (primary) incl. Lambda, Step Functions, DynamoDB, EventBridge, S3, Glue/Spark, EKS/ECS; Azure; Heroku. ThumbStall, anti-doomscrolling app for Android, as a mechanism drawing: a thumb doomscrolls an endless feed while a feed drum spins; the pure-Kotlin rules engine trips, a stall pawl drops into the drum and the feed brakes to a stop. A breathing pause asks Still want to scroll? and counts down from 8; the 5, 10 and 15 minute session-budget chips unlock at zero; the thumb taps Close and the sheet stamps STALLED. Repeat opens within an hour wait 8, 13, 18, 23, 28 and a 30 second cap. INTERNET is struck through in the manifest: never requested. 35 core unit tests, GitHub Actions CI, Room.

ThumbStall · Kotlin · Jetpack Compose · Room · Android 8+ · GPL-3.0 · v0.1.1 · website · APK · breathing pause, escalating delays, session budget, costly override, no INTERNET permission

PangoLock, zero-knowledge folder vault for macOS, as an exploded isometric drawing: password, PBKDF2-HMAC-SHA256 with 210,000 iterations, master key with zero-knowledge verifier, HKDF-SHA256 per-item key, AES-256-GCM, atomic write of a .plock file, decrypt-and-compare, original removed, vault locked. 87 XCTest tests, CI on macOS, written threat model.

PangoLock · Swift / SwiftUI · macOS 13+ · MIT · v0.2.1 (pre-1.0) · verify-before-delete, atomic writes, crash-window tests, recovery key, portable lockers, encrypted sharing

RAG PDF Genie: ask a 115-page IRS PDF questions with a fully local LLM. The PDF is chunked, embedded with nomic-embed-text and stored in ChromaDB; rewritten queries (multi-query retriever) retrieve context; llama3.2 in Ollama writes an answer grounded only in that context. No API keys; the document never leaves the machine.

OCR trilogy: one Tesseract engine, three deployments. FastAPI on Heroku (2020), Flask-RESTX on Docker Hub (2021), Flask web UI with Heroku and Azure CD (2022). Express observability lab: an Express CRUD API instrumented with a prom-client request counter and latency histogram by method, route and status, plus winston-loki logs; Prometheus, Grafana and Loki run from Docker Compose. Dashboard drawing is illustrative.

OCR trilogy: tesseract-ocr (2020) → tesseract-flask (2021) → tesseract-pillow (2022) · Observability: express_js_prometheus

Containers and Kubernetes: a Flask API running as five replica pods behind a LoadBalancer Service on Minikube, with images published to Docker Hub (suriya4code/python-flask-microservice and suriya4code/flask-ocr). The same pattern as EKS and ECS at work.
