Correct publishing, retention, and traffic guidance - #103
Some guides describe obsolete MCP tools, hide anonymous claim links from agents, or promise version URLs beyond retention. Update those instructions, match the dashboard's traffic metrics, and remove filler from reference introductions.
The error reference is regenerated from its producer with an error-only export. It corrects anonymous-expiry recovery and adds five current error codes. The API, CLI, setup, and redirect snapshots stay at their existing versions.
Validation: check, validate, build, test:docs (36 passed), audit, verify:public-safety, and verify:prose all passed. The build also verifies routes and SEO. The prose check covers 986 Markdown pages and 2,872 OpenAPI prose fields. The built sitemap has 1,591 URLs after adding the five error pages.
The website must update its pinned Docs revision to publish these changes on the composed site.

Documentation
Clarified that fixed version URLs serve a version only while it is retained.
Updated stats guidance to explain visitor-request counts, daily distinct visitors, hourly views, and the 30-day maximum window. Google Analytics loading is described as controlled by a separate switch.
Expanded publishing guidance on preview and claim links, expiry details, and when CI masks links or secret fields.
Refined guidance for renaming Spaces, configuration keys, API pagination, agent setup, and publishing prerequisites.
The corrected anonymous_expired recovery text in generated/errors/anonymous_expired.md was hand-edited into exporter-owned output. The monorepo producer still has the old advice, so the next exporter sync will revert it. Found by Indent Review Agent
The stats page still names the period-table column "views" while the cards now say "Visitor requests", and it lists "Visitors" as a section when it is a daily-only column. This doesn't match the dashboard UI. Found by Indent Review Agent

Before / after behavior
observed — Modified behavior in content/(concepts)/spaces.mdx: The rename guidance now says the old slug stays reserved for that Space; it no longer states that the reservation lasts forever.
observed — Modified behavior in content/(concepts)/versions.mdx: The hostname is no longer described as permanent; it serves the version snapshot while that version is retained.
observed — Modified behavior in content/(publish)/ci.mdx: The preview URL is described as fixed and available while its version is retained, replacing the claim that the hostname is permanent; the build-specific behavior and promotion details remain unchanged.
observed — Modified behavior in content/(publish)/publish.mdx: The receipt table now describes version.immutableUrl as the fixed URL for a retained version instead of a permanent per-version URL.

Autofix · Keep fixing CodeRabbit findings and required CI, and resolving merge conflicts
In `--json` or non-interactive output the key, its URL form, and the claim URL are all `[REDACTED]` unless you pass `--show-secret`. The `expiresAt` field is never masked, so a script can always tell an anonymous receipt from a permanent one. The clock, the caps, and the claim itself are on [Publish without an account](/anonymous-and-claim).
Anonymous preview and claim links remain available in `--json` and non-interactive publish output so an agent can relay them. Both links contain the Space key. CI masks them unless you pass `--show-secret`; the separate `claim.key` field follows the CLI's secret-output policy. `expiresAt` remains visible. See [Publish without an account](/anonymous-and-claim) for deadlines and claiming.

Reconcile secret-output guidance with the CLI reference
For anonymous publishes using --json or another non-interactive shell, this now says the preview and claim links remain visible without --show-secret, but the committed sf publish reference in generated/cli/index.md:5908-5909 says that flag prints those links in exactly those output modes. Because the commit deliberately leaves the CLI snapshot unchanged, the published docs will give users contradictory instructions; either regenerate the producer-owned CLI reference with the new behavior or retain the masking guidance here.
This anonymous space expired before it was claimed.
**How to resolve:** Publish a fresh space and share its claim link right away this time. If you meant to update a live space, check .spacefast/ (or your saved receipt) for its spaceId. Publish to that space with its credential instead of creating a new space.
**How to resolve:** Open the saved claim link to recover the Space while its recovery window is still open. If the Space has been purged, publish again and keep the new claim link. To update a different existing Space, select its spaceId and use its credential.

🟡 Bug · anonymous_expired fix is a hand edit to the exporter-owned snapshot and will be reverted
AGENTS.md says generated/errors/** and generated/manifest.json belong to the monorepo exporter and must not be hand-edited. The five new error pages match monorepo main, but this new anonymous_expired text does not: monorepo main still has the old fix at packages/common/src/docs/error-docs.ts:146 ("Publish a fresh space and share its claim link right away this time…"). verify:generated passes only because the manifest hashes were recomputed to match the edit. The next exporter sync will restore the old advice, which contradicts the retention/recovery guidance in limits.mdx. Change the string in the monorepo and re-export, or drop this hunk and its manifest entries until that lands.

⚪️ Nit · Stats table still names the column "views" while the cards say "Visitor requests"
The dashboard column is labeled "Visitor requests" (apps/my/src/components/space/stats.tsx:137), but this row still says "requests, views, and bandwidth". The new "Visitors" row is also listed as a section, while in the dashboard it is a daily-only column in the period table. Readers matching docs to the UI will look for a "Views" column and a Visitors section that don't exist.

Dashboard route names are reserved too, and the reservation is scoped to the position. `settings` is refused as a Space slug and accepted as a team slug. Refused as Space slugs: `agents`, `api-keys`, `billing`, `connect`, `domains`, `drop`, `handoffs`, `members`, `new`, `partners`, `resume`, `settings`, `variables`, `webhooks`. The `422` carries a `details.suggestion` you can take as-is.
A retired slug stays taken. After a rename the old slug belongs to that Space forever, and anyone else asking for it gets `422` `slug_unavailable`.

Minor · Functional Correctness · Quick win
Scope the renamed-slug reservation to the owning team.
The page states that slugs are unique per team and that two teams can own the same slug. As written, “Other Spaces” incorrectly includes Spaces in other teams and tells them to expect slug_unavailable. Change this to “Other Spaces in that team” or document the global exception explicitly. (raw.githubusercontent.com)
