Changelog

Sourced from github.com/posthog/posthog-go's changelog.

1.35.1

Patch Changes

  • 88d8397: Allow local feature flag evaluation and definition refreshes from an external cache provider without a secret key, with cache-only readers skipping fetch coordination.

1.35.0

Minor Changes

  • c203229: The otel SpanProcessor now adds the PostHog request context from each span's parent context.Context (set with posthog.WithRequestContext or posthog.NewRequestContextMiddleware) to the AI spans it exports: distinct ID, session ID (as $session_id) and properties. Attributes already on a span are kept. With NewRequestContextMiddleware, request metadata such as $ip and $user_agent now appears on the AI spans exported to PostHog. The otel module now depends on the core module.

1.34.0

Minor Changes

  • 3f345cc: posthogmcpsdk accepts WithIntentFallback, a callback that supplies $mcp_intent for tool calls whose agent sent no context, with $mcp_intent_source of inferred. The agent's own context still wins.

1.33.0

Minor Changes

  • 5da854f: posthogmcpsdk can advertise an opt-in get_more_tools virtual tool with WithMissingCapabilityTool. Calling it sends $mcp_missing_capability, with the agent's report as $mcp_intent, and the middleware answers the call itself.

1.32.0

Minor Changes

  • 4f45cea: posthogmcp adds CaptureMissingCapability, which sends $mcp_missing_capability for an agent's report of a capability the server lacks, with the report as $mcp_intent.

1.31.0

Minor Changes

  • 83bc15e: posthogmcpsdk no longer counts a call naming an unregistered tool, or an input_required round, as a $mcp_tool_call. It sends $mcp_unknown_tool and $mcp_input_required instead (go-sdk v1.8 for rounds). A legacy-revision call whose handler keeps asking for input after go-sdk's one re-entry is a failed $mcp_tool_call with $mcp_error_type input_required.

1.30.0

Minor Changes

  • fbf6733: posthogmcp gains CaptureUnknownTool and CaptureInputRequired to send $mcp_unknown_tool and $mcp_input_required from a manual integration. A call that names an unregistered tool, and an input_required round the client receives, are not tool calls, so they have their own events.
  • cf530d3: posthogmcpsdk anchors conversations like the Python and TypeScript SDKs: tools get an optional conversation_id argument, a call with neither a transport session nor a valid handle gets a new UUIDv7 handle in its result, and an echoed handle sets $mcp_conversation_id and the $session_id derived from it, so a stateless HTTP client's calls share one session. Turn it off with WithConversationID(false).
  • 0f4d122: posthogmcpsdk captures the calling model as $mcp_llm_model, from the client's request _meta or an injected llm_model argument, and the HTTP User-Agent and X-Anthropic-Client headers as $mcp_client_user_agent and $mcp_vendor_client. Turn model capture off with WithCaptureModel(false).
  • fbf6733: posthogmcp.CaptureToolCall follows two rules of the mcp-analytics spec that it skipped. A call with neither a SessionID nor a valid ConversationID now gets a new ses_<UUIDv7> as $session_id, and distinct_id falls back to it instead of "anonymous" (events stay personless without an explicit DistinctID). An Intent of {}, which a client sends for an empty context, is no intent and is omitted.
  • fbf6733: Add Capture.Library and Exception.Library. When set, the value replaces posthog-go as that
