ubuntu-latest now resolves to ubuntu-26.04, and actions/python-versions has no Python 3.8 build for 26.04 (its builds start at 3.10). setup-python fails with "Version 3.8 with arch x64 not found", so the Python 3.8, Pylint and Black, and docs jobs fail on every PR, and fail-fast cancels Python 3.x. Pin these jobs to ubuntu-24.04, the image they last passed on, where setup-python downloads python-3.8.18-linux-24.04-x64. Co-authored-by: Cursor <cursoragent@cursor.com>

Summary
CI fails on every PR right now, before any code is tested.
ubuntu-latestnow resolves to ubuntu-26.04, and actions/python-versions has no Python 3.8 build for 26.04 (the 26.04 builds start at 3.10). Soactions/setup-pythonstops withVersion 3.8 with arch x64 not found. This affects every job that sets up Python 3.8:
Python 3.8andPylint and Black(test.yml) fail at "Setup python".docs(sdk-reference.yml) fails at the same step.Python 3.xis cancelled by the matrix's fail-fast, so no tests run at all.For an example, see the checks on #493.
Changes
pytest, black(Pylint and Black), anddocsjobs toubuntu-24.04, with a comment that explains why.The last green runs (#488 and #490, on 2026-09-30) used exactly this setup. They ran on
ubuntu-24.04, andsetup-python@v2downloadedpython-3.8.18-linux-24.04-x64. The change keeps Python 3.8 in CI, which matchesrequires-python = ">=3.8". It also keeps pylint on the 3.8-compatible release, so the lint job doesn't pick up the newertoo-many-positional-argumentscheck against existing code. The long-term fix is to drop Python 3.8 (end of life since October 2024) from the support policy and CI. That is a support decision, so it isn't part of this PR.
