Description

  • Adds packages: user-defined card lists (e.g. "Staples") that can be copied into any deck.
  • A package is a Deck with new kind=PACKAGE (one migration), so it reuses the builder and every existing deck action.
  • Applying is a one-time copy: cards already in the deck are skipped (singleton-aware), the package's categories carry over, and the copy lands as one revision.
  • Sharing uses existing visibility: PRIVATE is owner-only, UNLISTED/PUBLIC can be applied by anyone with the link. Packages are always noindex and stay out of discovery.

What changed

  • prisma/schema.prisma, migration: PACKAGE added to DeckKind.
  • lib/deck/package.ts: planPackageApply, pure planner that splits package cards into adds vs. skipped.
  • app/_actions/deck/packages.ts: createPackage, listMyPackages, applyPackageToDeck (404s on missing, non-package, or another user's private package).
  • lib/deck/package-queries.ts: cached getPackagesByUser with card counts.
  • app/(ui)/packages/: list page with create form, and package page with apply-to-deck, visibility, description, delete.
  • app/_components/builder/add-package-dialog.tsx, decklist-toolbar.tsx: "Add package" in the deck toolbar (hidden on wishlists and packages).
  • app/(ui)/deck/[id]/page.tsx: redirects packages to /packages/[id].
  • crud.ts, duplicate.ts, metadata.ts: delete returns to /packages, duplicate keeps the kind, non-deck kinds are noindex.
  • user-menu.tsx: Packages entry. CONTEXT.md: Package term.

Fixes: #84

Checklist

  • Tests pass (pnpm test) and lint is clean
  • New behavior is covered by tests
  • No revalidate / dynamic / unstable_cache — used 'use cache' + cacheLife/cacheTag
  • <Link> imported from app/_components/link.tsx, not next/link
  • Suspense fallbacks reserve layout space (explicit heights)

Screenshots / notes

  • Verified end to end with two users: create package, bulk-fill, apply to a Commander deck (categories kept, existing Sol Ring skipped), re-apply ("Nothing new"), cross-user apply via unlisted link, private package 404s for others, delete returns to list.
  • Known gap: the profile deck list has no kind filter, so public packages (and public wishlists) show there. Out of scope here.
  • Lint note: import/no-unused-modules errors inside .claude/ worktrees because of the global ignore; lint was run with that rule off and unused exports checked by hand.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features
    • Create and manage reusable card packages from the Packages page.
    • Apply a package to a deck, adding eligible cards and skipping cards already present. Package changes don’t update decks where the package was previously applied.
    • Set package visibility, and delete packages. Private packages are available only to their owner; unlisted and public packages can be opened by link.
    • Find Packages in the user menu. Package pages are excluded from search indexing and discovery.
  • Bug Fixes
    • Deleting a package returns you to the Packages page. Duplicating a package keeps the copy as a package.

…#84)

A package is a Deck with kind=PACKAGE, edited in the regular builder at
/packages/[id]. Applying one is a one-time copy into a deck: cards already
in the deck are skipped (singleton-aware), the package's categories carry
over, and the copy is recorded as a single revision.

Packages are shared through the existing visibility model: PRIVATE ones
are owner-only, while UNLISTED and PUBLIC ones can be applied by anyone
with the link. Packages are always noindex and stay out of discovery.

- /packages list with create, and a package page with apply-to-deck,
  visibility, description, and delete
- "Add package" in the deck toolbar
- /deck/[id] redirects packages to /packages/[id]; deleting a package
returns to /packages; duplicating keeps the kind
- Tests for the apply planner, the apply action (visibility gating,
category registration, copy counts), and the touched actions

Closes #84

Walkthrough

The change adds packages as a deck kind. Users can create and list packages, view their package details, and apply package cards to decks. Package application skips cards already present and carries over applicable categories and card details.

Changes: Packages

Layer / File(s) Summary
Package kind, planning, and queries
prisma/schema.prisma, prisma/migrations/*, lib/deck/package.ts, lib/deck/package-queries.ts, lib/deck/__tests__/*, CONTEXT.md
Adds the PACKAGE deck kind, package application planning rules, and cached package summaries with summed card quantities. Tests cover card handling and package counts.
Package actions and deck lifecycle
app/_actions/deck/packages.ts, app/_actions/deck/crud.ts, app/_actions/deck/duplicate.ts, app/_actions/deck/__tests__/*
Adds actions to create, list, and apply packages. Application checks package visibility, plans additions, registers used categories, and applies changes in a transaction. Package deletion redirects to /packages, and package duplicates retain the PACKAGE kind.
Package pages and controls
app/(ui)/packages/*, app/(ui)/deck/[id]/page.tsx, app/_components/package/*, app/_components/deck/delete-deck-dialog.tsx, app/_components/shell/user-menu.tsx, lib/deck/metadata.ts
Adds package listing and detail pages, creation and application controls, and package deletion controls. Private packages are hidden from non-owners. Package pages use noindex, nofollow; non-DECK kinds do not produce deck JSON-LD. Package decks redirect to their package route.
Deck builder package controls
app/_components/builder/*, app/(ui)/wishlist/page.tsx
Adds an owner-only package action to the deck-builder toolbar. The toolbar option defaults to enabled and can be disabled; the wishlist disables it. View-setting updates use the current pathname.

A newly populated package can remain unavailable from the deck’s Add package dialog until its cached count expires. Removing the count-based guard is a small fix; the remaining risk is bounded.

Full details: Linked Issues check

Explanation

Issue #84 requests packages that populate decks with user-defined card lists. The PR adds the PACKAGE deck kind, package creation and listing, package editing and visibility, package application, duplicate and delete handling, deck-toolbar access, category and quantity planning, singleton-aware skipping, and one-revision application. The PR also adds automated tests for package actions, planning, queries, and related deck behavior.

Full details: Out of Scope Changes check

Explanation

The changes remain connected to Issue #84. Schema, query, metadata, routing, UI, server actions, tests, and the import correction support package behavior or its validation. The documented profile-list kind-filter gap is not implemented, but it is explicitly outside this PR and is not required by the issue.

Brings packages.ts and package-queries.ts to full line and function
coverage so the coverage gate passes.

# Conflicts:
#	app/_components/builder/deck-builder.tsx
The bulk action bar imported orderZoneOptions from move-card-menu, which
no longer exports it now that it lives in card-actions-panel. This broke
typecheck and the bulk-selection tests on main.

getPackagesByUser was tagged only with the deck list tag, which card
edits don't bump, so a package's cached count could stay at 0 after
cards were added. That showed the wrong count on /packages and disabled
the Add button in the deck's Add package dialog. Tag the entry with each
listed package's deck tag so card edits invalidate it.
