AlexV · Senior software engineer, distributed systems

Interested in remote engineering work, focused on code. Europe/CET.

🤓 Distributed Nerd for 20+ years. I build software for systems that have to keep running while their parts come and go: simulated worlds, online games, robots, and now fleets of networked edge devices.

📡 Now: keeping fleets of Linux and OpenWrt devices in line. Contributor to OpenWISP and GSoC 2026 mentor there.

🛠️ Stack: started deep in C/C++, grew up with Python, now heading for Elixir and Rust.

🌍 What keeps me curious: functional design of long-lived distributed systems, persistent virtual worlds, and software that maintains itself instead of rotting.

🧪 How I like to work: remote, async, test-first, small reviewable changes, upstream before forking. With AI writing more of the code, writing tests first is how we keep changes safe.
