Why

Live maps and animated itineraries only supported US USGS tiles, so non-US trips (for example Ayutthaya, Thailand) could not render a real basemap.

What changed

  • Agent guidance (visualization_router.py, advanced-visualization/SKILL.md): maps use Leaflet 1.9.4 with Google tiles (https://{s}.google.com/vt/lyrs=m&x={x}&y={y}&z={z}, subdomains mt0-mt3, maxZoom 20, no API key). Adds "Map data (c) Google" attribution, a role=status tile-error element, and removes the US-only coverage limit. The connecting line is labeled "Itinerary sketch", and themed trips follow the requested palette.
  • Sandbox CSP (frame-content.ts): Google tile hosts added to img-src only. script-src and connect-src are unchanged; USGS and Wikimedia hosts are kept.
  • Demo/docs: the map starter is now a "One Day in Ayutthaya" prompt; README and docs/visualization-routing.md updated.

Review notes

  • Google tiles accessed this way are subject to Google Maps terms of service; noted in the docs.
  • Python router tests were updated but could not be run locally (package download failed with a TLS error). The JS renderer test passes (21/21). Please run uv run --directory apps/agent pytest tests/test_visualization_router.py in CI.
  • Not yet verified live in a browser with the Ayutthaya prompt.

Replace US-only USGS tile guidance with Leaflet + Google tiles, allow Google tile hosts in the sandbox img-src CSP, and switch the map starter to a One Day in Ayutthaya prompt.
