What

The home, minimap and inbox icons at the right end of the desktop resource bar (Newsbar) had uneven gaps (2px and 3px, from inline whitespace), an underlined space between the globe and the scroll, and were pushed 28px into the end cap so the inbox icon touched the scroll curl.

  • The inline style on the icon block becomes div.newsbar-icons in windows.css: a flex row with a 6px gap, vertically centred in the 21px bar.
  • margin-right: -18px instead of -28px, so the last icon stays about 15px clear of the curl.
  • Links are display: block; text-decoration: none, so no underlined whitespace between icons.
  • z-index: 3 keeps the icons above the absolutely positioned resource text box (z-index 2), which they now overlap slightly; checked with elementFromPoint that all three are still clickable.

Desktop only. The mobile layout hides .panel.newsbar, and mobile.newsbarClick still finds span.footer-navigation.*.

Screenshots

Rendered from the real newsbar.tpl and game CSS: resource-bar-icons/compare.png (plus before.png / after.png) in the project files. The sandbox has no Verdana, so the resource text is a fallback font.

Generated by Claude Code

Home, minimap and inbox now sit in a flex row with 6px gaps, centred
in the bar and clear of the scroll curl, instead of an inline-styled
block pushed 28px into the end cap. Whitespace inside the links is no
longer underlined between the icons.
