This pull request introduces several updates to modernize the project, improve compatibility, and clarify documentation. The most significant changes include upgrading the Swift tools and dependency versions, standardizing the command-line interface naming, and updating the development container for better debugging and tool support.

Project Modernization and Dependency Updates:

  • Upgraded the Swift tools version to 6.0 in Package.swift and updated multiple dependencies to their latest major versions for improved features and compatibility. [1] [2]
  • Updated the minimum supported Swift version and platform requirements in README.md to reflect the new baseline.

Command-line Interface and Naming Consistency:

  • Standardized the CLI tool and binary name from llfsmgenerate to llfsm-generate throughout the documentation and build outputs for consistency. [1] [2] [3]
  • Updated usage examples, installation instructions, and command references in README.md to match the new CLI name. [1] [2] [3]

Development Container Improvements:

  • Enhanced .devcontainer/devcontainer.json by adding essential features (common-utils, git), custom run arguments for debugging, and specifying the correct LLDB library path for Swift debugging in VSCode.
  • Set the default remote user to vscode for a better development experience.

Code Quality and Consistency:

  • Changed public static var configuration to public static let configuration in all command structs to ensure immutability and thread-safety. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7]
  • Made minor code improvements, such as specifying the enum type for file writing options in VHDLGenerator.swift.

Documentation Updates:

  • Updated documentation links and clarified installation instructions, removing outdated or redundant steps and pointing users to the official Swift installation guide.

These changes collectively ensure the project is up-to-date with the latest Swift ecosystem, easier to use and develop, and better documented for new users and contributors.
